Collection: SPRINGPOLE STARTER KIT

Includes all the essential components for setting up a springpole with your dog.

What is a springpole?

The springpole is simply an exercise tool to help condition and exercise your dog.  Any time your dog is gripping and tugging from below we call it "working the Springpole" regardless if there is a spring or not.

That being said, a good springpole setup does involve a spring of some sort.  This gives resistance to your dogs tug and creates tension that builds muscle, similar to a human lifting weights.

There are many options to provide this spring action.  Our bungee springpoles are simply the most efficient, safest and longest lasting solution.

Is a Springpole right for my dog?

The instinct to jump, grip and tug is very natural for any dog and all breeds can benefit from this activity.

Not every dog will take to working a Springpole, but if your dog has any sort of love for playing tug of war they should enjoy this type of toy too.

Tugging on something from below works almost every muscle in your dogs body and is a fast and efficient way to burn energy.

Certain breeds such as the bull, mastiff and terrier types have been specifically selected for this type of work and get even more benefit from using a springpole.

The SPRINGPOLE STARTER KIT offers the hardware to introduce your dog to this distinctive training tool.

Where should it be setup?

To start you will need somewhere to hang the spring from.  This could be an anchor point in the ceiling like an eye bolt, hook or heavy punching bag mount.  Another solution is to loop over something like a beam, tree branch, swing set etc..

Also consider what is under the springpole, choose a place that is safe for your dog to jump and tug around.  Make sure there is nothing sharp or protruding that they could land on.   It's not required but a cushioned floor such as grass, carpet or gym mat will make the work easier and safer.

Here's what's included in the kit:

Easy Hang Strap

This is used to hang and adjust the height of the spring.  It uses a simple cam buckle and heavy duty nylon strap that is inserted from the bottom of the buckle.  Adjust the height as needed and attach the spring to the bottom ring using one of the included carabiners.

Middleweight Spring

All of our springs use high quality bungee to provide the resistance and have an outer nylon protective sleeve.  This sleeve protects the bungee from the suns damaging UV rays and the elements, so you can leave it out all year.  It also prevents overstretch resulting in a hard stop.  This hard stop allows dogs of any size to use the springpole safely.  It also enables your dog to hang from it with all 4 paws off the ground, which is called 'hangtime".   The Middleweight Spring is strong enough for any size dog and reaches the hard stop at approximately 90lbs of weight.

Bite Pillow

The last component of a springpole setup is the bite target.  This starter kit comes with our bestselling and highly regarded Bite Pillow.  It uses special anti-cut fabric that is long lasting and non abrasive to your dogs teeth.  The design incorporates seatbelt webbing that girdles the pillow for added strength and durability.  As with any tug toy for dogs it will start to shred with use, but will ultimately last longer than any other bite pillow on the market.

 Every dog deserves a Springpole.

Dogs need lots of exercise, both physical and mental, to be happy.  The instinct to bite and tug is in every dog and can be harnessed to provide exercise, strength building and breed fulfillment.  Working a springpole should be a part of your dogs daily exercise and mental stimulation, this kit makes it easy to get started using the most underutilized dog training tool available.
